At 14,115 feet, Pikes Peak — "America's Mountain" — inspired Katharine Lee Bates to write "America the Beautiful" after visiting its summit. Drive the Pikes Peak Highway, ride the Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway, or hike the Barr Trail. On clear days you can see it from the park; from the summit, you can see five states.
Practically our next-door neighbor, Cheyenne Mountain State Park protects 2,700 acres of foothills prairie and pine forest with more than 28 miles of hiking and biking trails. It's one of Colorado's newer state parks, and its trail system connects the kinds of landscapes Sunview residents enjoy right on the property.
